    Notice that this file & not Quercus carries the up to date  
    information on your partial results.  

They are preliminary, for several reaasons: 
(i) possible updates for clerical reasons
(ii) at the end of the course, if an assignment is judged to have 
    been unusually difficult compared to other assignments, its
    "max pts" number may be lowered. E.g., the sum of points 
    in assignment and on Quercus may be 100, you immediately see
    that it was changed to 96 below ('grading on a curve'), but if 
    in the end A1 (hypothetically!) turns out way more difficult 
    than A2..A4, then the 96 threshold of perfect solution might be 
    lowered a few points (never increased! so your course mark will 
    never be decreased by such possible changes). 
(iii) in theory even your final mark issued by the lecturer can
    be altered by the Dean (it hardly ever happens, though).

Tasks and their maximum contribution to the final mark: 
(1..4) = assignment set#1-4                   max = 30% (7.5% ea.)    
(5) = midterm part I (problems)               max = 10%
(6) = midterm part II (quiz)                  max = 11% 
(7) = class participation                     max =  3%
(8) = extra book reading                      max = +4%  
(9) = final exam part I (problems)            max = 22% 
(10) = final exam part II (quiz)              max = 24%
(11) = final score for the course             max = 100%
